Going back a year to UKGE 2023, I had signed up as a demonstrator for Asmodee and had been assigned to demo Star Wars games. The Star Wars Deckbuilding Game was only a couple of months old so the focus was to show off this little gem. Throughout that weekend I also gave demonstrations on Star Wars: The Clone Wars & Star Wars: Outer Rim.
I enjoyed the experience so much I knew I had to be more involved in the board game industry. It gave me the bug to open my own online store, and five months later Clownfish Games was born!
I was keen to be involved again this year, once again being assigned to the Star Wars stand, although this year two of the board games to be demonstrated had not yet been released: Bounty Hunters & Mandalorian Adventures.
I had the Thursday evening to learn these games with my fellow demonstrators and we were also taught by co-designer Josh Beppler (pictured) who had come across from the USA. It was great to meet a few familiar faces again among the demo team. I was very taken with the game and was very grateful to be able show off this fantastic game with him for UKGE 2024.
.
The interest in the game was incredible, keeping us occupied with demonstrations to keen customers all weekend and the experience served as another reminder of why I love being involved in this industry and look forward to participating again.
The Mandalorian Adventures published by Unexpected Games is a cooperative adventure storybook game that follows Season 1 of the Mandalorian and has campaign, legacy and sandbox elements to it, giving a game with great replayability after all the additional content has been unlocked. Players can take on iconic characters such as IG-11, Greef Karga and of course, The Mandalorian himself.
This highly anticipated title is expected to be available during August 2024 and is available for pre order at Clownfish Games.
I'd love to hear about your UKGE experience. Please tell us about it in the comments below!

I look forward to it Tony!
Hi, I was there on the Asmodee demo team too. Although I applied for the Star Wars stand I was too late and ended up with Brass Birmigham. I was on the stand in 2023 and we had a blast – even if it was so, so busy! This year I took a day off to look around and felt that with one or two exceptions there wasn’t anything too new-and-shiny! However, I’ll be back again next year, hopefully on the stand with Stuart (!) and no doubt we’ll have a blast again!
